Putting the Action Into ATTR-ACTION

Filed under: Looking Good — admin at 7:53 pm on Thursday, January 31, 2008

Are you familiar with the “Attraction Model” of living?

Essentially, it means that when you live your life with very specific intention, and in integrity with that intention, then you will attract to you what it is that you are intending.

Being intentional means to be clear and specific about what it is that you want. It also means to be purposeful and to “live on purpose”.

Having integrity means being congruent with that intention, and it is your “walk” matching your “talk”. Your “walk” in this case means going into action, which is also the last five letters of attrACTION.

Yes, you will have to go into action to get what you want.

Want to start or add to a business, start a new relationship or enhance an existing one, or add to your personal growth?

Regardless of what “It” is, “It” will happen if you follow this formula, and only if you go into action.

Start by getting clear about what you want. Write down specifically your goals and objectives. Make a time line that directs you to take actions steps. Know exactly what your intention is.

Then put the action into the attraction.

If you are passive, you will get passive results.

Push the “luck factor”. Someone (I think it was Oprah) once said, “Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.” Be prepared with your intention and create more opportunities.

In fact, the more opportunities you create and follow-through with, the more results you will attain. That is all about staying in the ACTION.

Use your support system to help you. Ask them to hold you accountable to your commitments and goals.

Use the expertise of your life coach to help you get clear about your intentions, and to help you be accountable as well.

If you feel uncomfortable, insecure, vulnerable, or “weird”, know that you are most likely right on target.

In order to get anything new, you have to create new strategies, approaches, and systems. Most anything “new” might feel strange until you get used to it

So, live the ATTR-ACTION model of life. Remember, there is very little ATTR-ACTION without the ACTION. Be a magnet and draw towards you all your dreams of the most fulfilling life possible…and then go into ACTION!

Garbage in its Place

Garbage in its Place
(352 words)

There is nothing worse than seeing garbage blowing down the street of your neighborhood, or finding broken shards of glass at the local swimming hole where children play. Wildlife is just as vulnerable to garbage and many have lost their lives after becoming tangled in waste or mistaking garbage for food. It is up to each of us to make an effort to minimize this unsightly, and sometimes hazardous, problem.
Animals, wind and traffic breezes put legs to loose garbage and are able to distribute it great distances from the original source. The first thing that we can do to prevent this is to ensure trashcan and dumpster lids are secure. Metal and plastic trashcans are more preventative than bags - leaving a bag out over night or even for several hours, is an enticing invitation for stray animals to wreak havoc. When taking a load to the dump, be sure that it is securely covered by tightly tying a tarp over the load with some rope or bungee cords.
Carry plastic shopping bags on your walks to clean up litter that you find along the way. Often, people are rewarded for their efforts by the deposits returned from bottles and cans. Those who have noticed your efforts will begin taking up the same habit once they realize the impact it has.
Report any dumping you witness, whether it was done illegally or accidentally - just get the license number and leave the rest to the officials. Also, report any site where garbage has been left by others. These problems can be reported to the local city, highway, public works or conservation office. Ask them to arrange for it to be cleaned up.
By doing these relatively small actions, we prevent contamination and injuries to people or wildlife in the area. When separating recyclable items, we keep a valuable resource out of the landfill. In addition, we maintain a pristine environment for citizens, tourists and wildlife to enjoy. We can all take pride knowing that by keeping garbage in its place, we are making the world just a little better for everyone.

How Effective Is EEG Neurofeedback Training in Treating the Symptoms of ADHD?

Filed under: Kids & Parents — admin at 1:14 am on Thursday, January 31, 2008

Many research studies have shown the overall effectiveness of stimulant medication, such as Ritalin and Dexedrine in their various forms, in treating the symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders in children, teens, and adults. Even though stimulants are not the only effective option in the treatment of the disorder, stimulants may be a good choice, and their use should be discussed with your physician.

Below is a chart showing the effectiveness of EEG Biofeedback, or Neurofeedback training. This information is from a study by Rossiter and La Vaque which used the same protocols that we used in our clinical studies with ATTEND. They used the Test of Variables of Attention (TOVA) as the measuring instrument to determine change in performance after using either medications of EEG Biofeedback training for 30 days. The TOVA is a computerized Continuous Performance Test (CPT) that has no placebo effective, and has no bias (such ahs you might see with parent rating scales).

A Comparison of EEG Biofeedback and Psychostimulants in Treating Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders. Thomas P. Rossiter, and Theodore J. La Vaque. Journal of Neurotherapy, 1, Summer 1995

With 30 days of EEG Biofeedback training the group improved in every category measured by the TOVA. They improved a great deal in their focused attention to a task (1.6 standard deviations); their self-control improved nearly one standard deviation (0.9 SD); their reaction time improved a bit (0.5 SD, which is still a statistically significant improvement on the TOVA); and their Consistency score, or Variability score, improved by the same 1/2 standard deviation.

These were good improvements. Perhaps not as big over all as the group that used stimulant medications, but still a significant improvement.

We like EEG Biofeedback training as an intervention, and we provided it in out clinic for seven years or so. The only downside that we’d warn parents about are:

(1) make sure that the person actually doing the treatment is well trained, as often the doctor or psychologist will turn the actual treatment over to a technician who barely knows what they are doing; and

(2) the treatments can come with a tall price tag. Shop around for a reasonably priced provider.

Increase Golf Swing Speed Easily

Increase Golf Swing Speed Easily

Golf swing speed is an elusive term for most amateur golfers. We’ve all heard of it and know it relates somehow to longer drives, but how can we increase golf swing speed quickly and effectively?

Do you think it’s swing harder? Have you tried that approach? What happened? I can take a wild guess. The ball didn’t go anywhere! You were so tense that your golf swing speed was actually much slower.

That’s not what you want!

So how do you achieve the ever-elusive higher golf swing speed?

It starts with your engine. Your core. The center of your machine. The stronger and more flexible you get your core, the faster the arms, hands and club will come through without swinging harder. Resulting in longer and much straighter drives.

Just take a look at the main movement in the golf swing!

It’s rotational!

In ALL sports movement…what dictates the power? One guess. It’s your core. That’s why athletes spend so much time throwing weighted medicine balls, pulling weighted cables and doing tons of twisting exercises with resistance.

The same approach should be taken for the golfer wanting to improve golf swing speed. Start with simple rotational exercises that incorporate both strength and flexibility like the seated rotation with a club.

• Sit upright with a club on your shoulders behind your neck.
• Grab each end with your hands.
• While facing forward, focusing straight ahead, rotate to the right and back to the left.
• You will feel tight and restricted at first.
• Maintain an erect posture with eyes straight ahead.
• Do this slowly at first, then build up the rate of speed.
• Rotate back and through 10 times for 3 sets.

This is a starting (basic) core exercise that will make a HUGE difference if you haven’t worked on your core before. You will notice a difference in your range of motion and power output on the course quickly.

You would then progress up to more resistance related rotational exercises with handweights, tubing (cables), weighted medicine balls and even weighted clubs.

With just a little bit of effort you will see a dramatic increase in golf swing speed!

5 Tips To Add More Spice To Your Life

Filed under: New Age Info Center — admin at 12:42 am on Thursday, January 31, 2008

1. Once a week, visit somewhere you’ve never been before. A city, town or village, a museum, a theater, a restaurant, café, or bar, a park, a zoo, a wood or forest - get the idea? Visiting new places broadens your horizons and helps to keep life fresh and interesting.

2. The biggest thief that will ever enter your home does so by your invitation. Your television can steal something more valuable from you than any other thief on the planet: Your precious, non-renewable life time. Time to stop this little thief from pilfering any more! At least once a month, spend an entire week without watching any television and use the time to do something much more life-enhancing. You could workout, read books, learn a new subject - languages, cookery, swimming, diving, computers, wine-tasting, crafts, astronomy, astrology, music, advanced driving, drama, take up a new sport - the list is endless. You’ll meet people, you’ll develop more skills, you’ll add to your knowledge and you’ll develop more confidence. And you’ll feel more alive! Beats sitting indoors watching soaps, the news, repeats and a barrage of commercials doesn’t it? I’m sure you’ve heard people say “I’d love to try something new but I just haven’t the time”. It’s common isn’t it? Yet many people are totally unaware of how much television they watch. Let’s be conservative and say it’s an average 4 hours a day. 4 x 7 = 28 hours. Imagine what you could achieve if you devoted 28 hours a week to doing something far more constructive?

3. Fancy a challenge - something that will test you to the limit? How about a survival weekend? There are many courses available for this, from basic outdoor survival to more specialized ones for arctic, desert and jungle survival. You’ll learn more about the environment, you’ll develop survival skills and again, you’ll meet new people and share a highly rewarding experience. To find courses, use the Internet search engines - “survival weekend”, “survival courses” and “learn basic survival” as search terms.

4. Spontaneity can bring excitement and adventure into life. Doing things on the spur of the moment is fun too! So why not just do something totally unplanned? Get in the car and drive somewhere, go to the train station and take a train journey somewhere, or, for a holiday, just visit your travel broker or go direct to the airport and see what deals they’ve got for you to go there and then. Have your bags packed and ready and don’t forget your passport! This brings the unknown into our lives, and although this can be a little bit frightening, it’s also very exciting too. Enjoy the adventure!

5. I’ve saved the best till last! When it comes to living a happy, fulfilled life, a life where you do all things you really want to do, fear is the biggest threat you will have to face. It ruins the hopes and dreams of millions and millions of people. Every time you give in to a fear, you lose. You miss out on opportunity, experience and happiness. So do something you are afraid of. Yes, I know it is very hard to do this but the alternative - giving in - is much more painful. If you’re afraid of heights, learn to abseil or climb. If you’re afraid of water, learn to swim. Flying - attend a fear of flying course. Frightened of driving? Start to learn. If you want to start a business, devote the time to become fully informed and start your research. Whatever it is, TAKE ACTION to beat it. Fear only exists in one place - YOUR MIND. It is an illusion that will set boundaries on your happiness. The only way to break through these boundaries is to confront fear and overcome it. When you do, your confidence will increase, you will experience more happiness and my word will you feel alive!

And there you are, five great ideas for you to try. Make them work for you by putting them into action and don’t forget: Knowledge isn’t power, it is putting our knowledge in to action so it works for us is what empowers us!

Until next time.

Five Critical Tips to Keep in Mind When Completing Disability Forms

Filed under: Legal Infos — admin at 4:39 pm on Wednesday, January 30, 2008

Perhaps one of the most confusing aspects of winning a Social Security (SSA) disability claim is completing the array of forms during the process.

A question you will inevitably ask is, “Does SSA look at my forms and can they alone win or lose my case?”

My experience is that SSA and/or judges don’t usually approve your case based on what you say on the forms. However, they often use what is said in the forms to support a denial of your claim.

This is because if SSA or a judge is going to approve your claim, they will base it on more compelling objective evidence such as medical records and/or treating physicians’ opinions regarding your inability to work.

Unfortunately, I have seen what appeared to be an innocent statement by a claimant be the evidence used by the judge to deny the claim.

The inherent problem you have as a claimant is twofold. First, with all due respect, you don’t know what you need to prove in order to win your case. Second, you have spent the past several months or years consistently downplaying the severity of your medical problems to anyone you thought was listening (i.e. your employer, family, friends, doctors and SSA). Even though you are constantly in excruciating pain or exhausted; nobody wants to be viewed by others as a whiner. Sound familiar?

Studies consistently show that Americans are more productive and annually work longer hours than workers in any other country; consequently, it isn’t fashionable to complain. Instead, Americans “grin and bear it” or we follow the British and keep the proverbial “stiff upper lip.”

All too often, your denial mechanism rears its ugly head when you complete SSA forms. The result is that you consistently overstate what you are capable of doing and understate the severity of your symptoms and limitations. Does this also sound familiar?

The problem is that the aforementioned disability strategy may likely kill your chances of winning your SSA case without you even knowing it.

By following these tips when completing SSA’s forms you should significantly reduce the likelihood of making a serious mistake that comes back to bite you in the you know what!

Tip #1 You’re not Danielle Steele - Please don’t write a Book!

Certainly you remember the advice your parents gave you as a teenager - the more you say, the more its gets you in trouble! This is not the time to become a novelist! This clearly applies to competing SSA forms.

SSA does not give you a lot of room to answer the questions and that is good. Limit your answers to the space that has been provided in the question and do not write in the margins or attach additional sheets of paper.

Always answer the question honestly, but keep your answers brief and to the point.

Tip #2 Presume you are having a bad day when providing answers

Remember, a critical issue in a social security disability case is always what activity level are you capable of sustaining on a regular and continuing basis (i.e. a 5 day work week). The issue is never what you can do for only one day. Clearly, almost everyone is capable of performing some activities for one day such that it would make them appear to be capable of working. Never forget…the issue is always what level of activity you can sustain on a daily basis, week after week.

Why should you assume you are having a bad day? Simply put, if you were back working on a sustained basis, most likely every day would be a bad day. Answering as if you’re having a bad day is not only an honest answer but is also a more accurate assessment of what activity level you can sustain.

Following this tip will avoid the problem of overestimating what you are capable of doing. It will also keep your denial mechanism honest.

Tip #3 The Big Three - Always focus on the “frequency, severity and duration” of your symptoms and limitations

Another critical issue in a social security disability case is your symptoms and limitations (i.e. pain, fatigue, concentration problems, inability to maintain any activity for a reasonable period).

Always remember, you are unable to work due to the frequency, severity and duration of your symptoms and limitations, and not due to a diagnosis.

You should mention all the diagnoses that have even a small impact on your inability to work, but you should use 5% of the allotted space to reference diagnoses and 95% to discuss The Big Three and how they limit not only your ability to work but also your ability to function on a daily basis.

Tip #4 Completely resist the urge to be the perfectionist you are!

Before you became ill you were probably an organized perfectionist who was incredibly productive. Everything in your life had its place; I know it kills you it is not that way now. However, this is not the time to be a compulsive, organized perfectionist! Please don’t use SSA forms as a launching pad to organize your life.

One of the hallmark’s of your inability to work is your concentration problems, memory impairment and brain fog. Your life is now an unorganized mess.

Guess what? SSA needs to see the real you and not a top notch administrative assistant who is articulate and possesses phenomenal organizational and typing skills. Please do not typewrite your answers. Always handwrite them even if your answers become illegible. The clarity of your handwriting and the way you answer the questions tells a lot about the severity of your concentration and memory problems.

Many clients tell me that little by little, it took them days to complete some SSA forms. Your goal should be to have your answers look like it took you days. In fact, if it did take you days, make sure you tell SSA that somewhere on the form.

I have an interesting story for you on this subject. Several years ago I represented a woman who was at one time an outstanding legal secretary. We eventually won her claim before a judge. However, before she retained me and prior to the judge, her claim was actually recommended for approval at an earlier level of review by SSA. Unknown to the client, SSA overturned its own decision and denied her claim.

Why? Because she did a marvelous job typing her answers on the forms. There were no typos and the forms were perfectly organized. A reviewing SSA psychiatrist was so impressed with her work he wanted to hire her! He concluded her memory and concentration problems could not be as severe as she was alleging. His opinion was the forms proved she was capable of performing a simple, sit down job and her claim was denied. We were fortunate to have a judge who overlooked the forms and instead listened to her entire story. However, you may not be so fortunate…so don’t take any chances.

Tip #5 If psychological issues play even a small part in preventing you from working, you must allege them on the forms

Although the primary reason you are unable to work may be due to a physical diagnosis, don’t overlook the psychological issues that often arise after years of dealing with chronic pain and fatigue. You want to win your case anyway you can, whether it is due to physical or psychological problems, or quite frequently, a combination of both.

My experience in successfully representing chronic pain and chronic fatigue clients all over the country suggests that psychological issues are frequently a significant factor in why many people are unable to work. To totally ignore this fact can be detrimental not only to your well being, but may also cause you to lose your SSA disability claim!

A Social Security judge recently told me that he hates it when a disability attorney “fails to give me several doors to use if I want to approve a case.” He believes that using only one door for claim approval is tantamount to the “attorney driving their client off a cliff.” I totally agree with the judge. Please don’t let this happen to you; you have too much at stake!

What did the judge mean? Simply put, judges like to have several medical conditions to choose from if they want to approve your claim. For example, if a judge believes your claim is not strong enough to be approved based only on your physical diagnosis, they want the option to approve your claim based on another diagnosis, perhaps psychological.

What prevents the judge from simply approving it based on a psychological diagnosis? The problem is you never told SSA on any of the forms you completed that you believed a psychological condition was at least in part responsible for why you can’t work!

Thus, a door that could have used to approve your claim does not exist; consequently, the judge has no choice but to deny your claim. This scenario is terribly unfortunate because your claim was denied when the judge was looking for a way to approve it!

The solution is to tell SSA early, often and consistently that you believe a psychological diagnosis plays a part in your inability to work. It is fine to state that it is “secondary to” or “as a result of” dealing with your chronic physical symptoms and limitations.

At the end of the day, you want to win your case anyway you can. I know this is true because all over the country I see it in my client’s eyes on the day of the hearing. SSA’s monthly benefit check and health insurance benefits mean the same to you regardless of what diagnosis was used to approve your claim.

Remember, proper preparation as well as understanding what you need to prove and how you need to prove it are critical to winning your case. By following these tips, you should avoid making a mistake that you later regret.

The Seven Secrets of Top Performers

Filed under: Hall Of Sales — admin at 1:04 pm on Wednesday, January 30, 2008

Let’s put to rest the fallacy that success, in sales or any
profession, is due to luck, chance, and/or hard work. There is
nothing further from the truth. Think about it, you and I both
know people who work incredibly hard, putting in long hours,
they may even have two jobs, but they are not consistently (if
ever) successful. Hard work certainly contributes to success,
but hard work alone will not make you top-flight in your
industry. Is success due, then, to luck or chance?

After years of study, in a multitude of industries, I have come
to the conclusion that success is an absolute science. In other
words, there are exact principles of thought and action that all
top performers universally and consistently exhibit. Let’s
examine seven of these principles more closely:

1. High achievers know exactly what they want. I was recently
working with top sales professionals on a seven-city tour of
Canada. In these seminars, I invariably asked people what they
wanted to achieve in the upcoming year. Many people had a vague
idea of what they wanted (or what they thought they could
achieve); and even more knew what they didn’t want; but the high
performers knew in measurable terms, what they wanted to
accomplish in every area of their life. Without a doubt, this
type of clarity and focus is power!

2. Top performers visualize themselves in possession of their
desired results. I have interviewed thousands of the worlds most
successful and without fail they see themselves winning every
single day. Whether in business or athletics: Jack Nicholas in
golf, Michael Jordan in basketball, the million-dollar sales
producer I spoke with last week, they all have this in common.
Visualizing is the key to realizing!

3. Highly successful have an unbending belief in themselves and
their abilities. Winners believe they will win in advance, and
it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. A common mistake among
would-be achievers is the notion that “if I become more skilled
in my profession I will succeed.” Yet how many highly skilled
people do you know that are not profiting every single day?
Often two people go through the same training course and acquire
the same skills — yet one becomes a huge success and one
accomplishes nothing. The answer lies in the individuals belief
system and the unshakable conviction that he or she will win.

4. Achievers take action “as if” they were already in
possession of the goal they desire. High achievers think, work,
talk, play, and take action like the person they want to become.
This means turning away from current results and focusing,
believing, and acting “as if” you were already there. Understand
that your current results are the direct outcomes of the past.
The past does not equal the future.

5. Winners take full responsibility for their own destiny.
Winners get results! Results are not equal to
no-results-and-a-good-story. Many sales professionals are better
at making excuses than they are at making money. “It’s the
economy, it’s the location, my prices are too high.” You can
always come up with a good story, but winners hold themselves
accountable. Only when you take accountability for everything in
your life can you be responsible to change anything.

6. Top performers build high-leveraged partnerships. No one in
today’s world can make it alone. There is just too much to learn
and things are changing too rapidly. High achievers always spend
time with other high achievers. Like attracts like. They attend
the same events, eat at the same restaurants, join the same
churches and clubs. Your business and social environment is more
important than your heredity, choose your relationships and
partnerships wisely.

7. Great achievers are great givers. Achievers ask: “How can I
provide more value? How can I give to others, to my teammates,
employees, clients. What can I do to make it better?” Winners
always give 10 times more value than they ask for in return.

Success happens according to universal laws and timeless
principles. Understand and utilize them and you will win. It
works for everyone….every time.

Life Insurance - Some Reasons Why You May Need It

Filed under: Insurance + Security — admin at 9:16 am on Wednesday, January 30, 2008

A couple of weeks ago I was sitting with an agent (insurance, stock and mutual funds) for investing some money into mutual funds/stocks. He asked me regarding life insurance. “I already have one and I am not interested in another one”, that’s exactly what I said. Though mutual funds and stock does give you profits he said to me, first take care of your security and then go for profits. Insurance will take care of that - Security First.
The next day while coming to the office an incident happened that made me ask some questions about insurance.

1. Do I really need insurance and that too a life insurance?

As long as I don’t have any one depending on me I don’t need insurance. However, if you are married and have children and their financial status is going to be affected by your absence. You would need life insurance. Even, if you don’t have any children now you may need life insurance. Probably, your parents might be depending on you for their financial needs. Therefore, depending on the load and the number of your dependents you have, the more life insurance you need.

2. How much life insurance will I need ? How to assess life insurance needs?

This will vary from individual to individual. It will depend on whether you are married, have one or more kids, future expenses, loans, mortgage, education and wedding expenses for children etc. By weighing these and other factors, you can calculate your life insurance needs. As a rule, you will need a life insurance coverage of at least 7 years of your current annual income.

Every person’s situation is different. Your financial situation may look the same as your friend in the office next to you, your needs are different. Calculating how much life insurance you need shouldn’t be a guessing game. You can make a calculated assessment of your needs and your loved ones dependent on you.

3.Should I purchase life insurance on my spouse?

Yes, if your spouse works. You should have a separate life insurance policy. Financial problems can be averted if you spouse is working and you have life insurance to cover. To make up for your spouse’s contributions to the family a life insurance may still be required even if spouse is not working.

Major factor in getting life insurance is your dependents. Some points you could think of:

What lifestyle you want your family to have when you are not around?

What would happen to your spouse who is not working and not having any income?

Any debts, loans, credit cards you want to pay off?

Any special needs, especially health?

Educational expenses for your children?

Parents, who become financially dependent to you?

These are some areas where you will feel the need to have a life insurance. You can start thinking of life insurance if you feel one or more of the above situations apply for you.

Your Secret Weapon… A Budget

Filed under: Credit + Credit Repair — admin at 3:11 am on Wednesday, January 30, 2008

For many, the word ‘budget’ immediately sends shivers down the spine. Why in the world would anyone need or want to budget their money?

First off, budgeting your money does NOT mean you are poor, or are in need of financial assistance. You’d be surprised to know how many considered to be “middle class”, regularly budget their money in order to make the most of what they have.

Secondly, designing and implementing a budget does NOT take a Harvard doctorate degree requiring hours upon hours of tedious work.

What is a budget?

Simply put, a budget helps you to track your income and keep your spending habits in check over a certain period of time, allowing you to reach specific goals.

Why Start A Budget

There are many reasons why a family may want to implement a budget. These “reasons” can be labeled BUDGET GOALS. The reason(s) you are budgeting your money.

It is imperative that you actually determine what your GOALS are before actually designing a budget plan. This is what you will be striving for.

Answer the question - ‘Why do I want to start budgeting my money?’ To save for a new house or car? Saving for your childrens’ college education? What about an early retirement?

These are all very important goals that many of us will have to face at some point in our lives. And these are some of the goals that can be tackled through the implementation of a budget.

** Summary - Set Your Goal(s) **

Cash Flow Analysis

It is now time to determine the amount of “cash” that comes into your pocket every month, and the amount that leaves your pocket every month.

This is one of the most important steps in planning your budget, for it allows you to get a whole perspective of your current financial situation. At the same time, analyzing your “cash-flow” allows you to actually see where your incomes are coming from and how it is being spent.

Remember, this does not have to be done professionally nor does it need to be time consuming. In addition to that, try not to track every single penny that you spend. You’ll drive yourself crazy. A budget should not frustrate you to death.

Start with your income(s). It’s best to take it a month at a time so you get a clear, concise view of what you make on a monthly basis. Don’t forget to include any benefit or interest payments you receive.

After you have an idea of the TOTAL amount you receive monthly, it’s time to add up the expenses you pay every month. Generally, you can group most expenditures into two categories - fixed and variable.

Fixed bills - mortgage, car, insurance loans, etc…

Variable bills - utilities, phone, car maintenance, entertainment, food, etc…

It is really important that you tally up EVERYTHING that is paid out monthly. That includes all taxes, social security, 401(k) (retirement funds), and any other deductions that you might have taken directly out of your paycheck.

It works best if you write down ALL the expenses/bills that you pay monthly.

If you are having difficulty remembering what is paid every month, take a look back through your financial records, checkbook or bank statements for more accurate numbers.

Remember, you do not want to spend hours and hours, sweating over this. Budgeting should not be like another 9-5 job. The quicker and easier this analysis process is, the more you will be willing to go through with it.

Spring! Time for Love and New Beginnings

Filed under: Internet Self Improvement Resources — admin at 2:08 am on Wednesday, January 30, 2008

Prepare, prepare, prepare! The horizon screams of spring and the budding trees, tulips poking their head above the soil and thoughts of romance and love fill our hearts and minds. Are you ready for what awaits you? Well, if not, we need to get started right away!

First things first, get your house in order, no I am not talking about the dwelling in which you reside, I am referring to the temple (your body, mind and soul) of all existence! Time to throw out all preconceived notions of what the other sex is looking for and re-create the person you are, the person you want to be!

Put that smile to work, make eye contact, approach a stranger (be careful), strike up a conversation, and take the initiative for the new beginning you want to have this year! There is no happiness greater than that which is within you, and love evolves from loving oneself.

Next, get out of that house, off that couch, turn off the TV, and enjoy the world around you. Open your eyes to the beauty of your surroundings and look in amazement how everything changes so rapidly. You are like a flower in spring, let your heart bloom, outstretch your arms and let go of that wall you have been holding up. Update your profile to reflect your newfound understanding of yourself, express your heart, your desires and watch life explode before you. Build it and they will come!

The flowerbed has always been there, but like any growing thing it needs to be nurtured and cultivated. Till your garden, pluck out the weeds, and blossom into a heart open to love and friendship. Be open to all possibilities, it is more than opening your heart, you must open your mind as well to new experiences, new people, new possibilities.

Spring is our opportunity every year to begin again, it is not a resolution, it is a cleansing of all that has been pushed to the back, open the doors and windows to your heart and find what has been waiting there all along.

It is in the air, catch it, make it your own, take what is there and let life and love happen, it will when you reveal all that is beneath the soil to grow and thrive.

Spread your wings this year, fly with no fear, be all that you know you are and can be. Make it happen!
