I am not so miserable, but life can be lonesome without a date. I finally bottomed out, this morning I devoured what seemed like a pound of bacon. On a weekend while being single, for once. Yeah, I did it. Am I crazy? Honestly, that’s when I honestly considered finding a date in my area.

We were at my boy’s t-ball game in Dallas last night, Richard wanted to know if I’ve found a special lady. They sure have nerve. So, I said, “what’s your deal, yo?”
No surprise that The Old Tooter (aka: grandpa) mindlessly kept jabbing me about my personal matters. I joked to all of them: “Seriously, I’ll never find a gorgeous single woman hanging out with you.”
How can they be so rude? No one knew what I was talking about, as usual. Perturbed, I fell asleep that night to put my dating woes behind me. Why can’t I stop thinking about this! I can’t imagine what I was thinking there. My cousin, who recently moved to Italy recommended that I browse the singles profiles at Great Expectations. I said, “Sure, whatever.” But it really was a good idea. I am truly grateful for this dating service full of fun and desirable Dallas singles.
At the time, dating services were a novel thing because I’m a traditionalist of sorts. I’d never done anything like this before, so much so that I got a little queasy. That slight disaster didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves. That night I enjoyed was full of crazy-fun mingling. I really shouldn’t allow everyone give me a hard time about being single. Astoundingly enough, mingling in Dallas with Great Expectations is a good time and like a dream come true.
